Happy Watercolor

Hi everybody! Oh my goodness!! Time got away from me this weekend and I have neglected you! I am so sorry! It has been GORGEOUS here and we did lots of family stuff and lots of yard work! I'm exhausted! I kept saying, I need to go get some work done... and it just didn't happen! But, that's ok, we had a wonderful family filled weekend!

But, I do have something to share. This is another sample I made for last September's Founder's Circle. It features Happy Watercolor.

I think this was my favorite sample of them all. Grey isn't one of my go to colors, but I loved how it worked for this card. I also used Calypso Coral. I stamped the sentiment on one of the Eatercolor Wonder Designer Notecards and cut it out with an Oval Framelit. These notecards are wonderful! They are watercolor paper! Very unique!

SO let me just show you a few pictures from our outing on Saturday. We headed out of town for a festival... that doesn't start till next weekend... sigh... yea. Everyone was very irritated after the hour drive to discover that we weren't getting to play and have fun at the strawberry festival. But, after some ice cream and a potty break, we were ok. We also discovered several AMAZING wildflower displays.

This year's wildflower crop is stunning! It's just so vibrant! If you've never been to Texas in the Spring, you are missing out! Our roadside displays of flowers are unlike anything!

You've just got to be careful and lookout for the rattlesnakes and sticker burs!!

And, the reason we were out doing fun stuff was because it was this little ladie's 7th birthday!! She was So disappointed that we weren't going to the strawberry festival. Look at her shirt!! But, we headed downtown and did the Children's Museum and the rainforest Cafe, so all was good after all!

OK, I know you are ready to move on... I'll be back on Tuesday with TWO posts!! And that's NOT an April Fools joke!

Have a great Monday!

Celebrations Kit Gift Set- Artisan Wednesday Wow

Hello everyone! Welcome to your next stop on the Artisan Blog Hop! We are already at the end of march and hopefully, you have enjoyed all the springy creations we've been bringing you. It's been so nice to at least have spring inside if not outside!

Today, I am featuring a project I made witht eh Celebrations Basic Kit. It is intended  be a banner and party treat set. But, if you know me, I have to swim against the stream and make something totally different with it!

Recently, it was my daughter's teacher's birthday. And, I waited till the last minute to get her gift together!! I knew I was giving her a Stampin' Up Gift Certificate (she LOVES SU too,) but had not made anything fancy to put it in. So,thankfully, I had  a SU kit come to the rescue!!

To hold the Gift Certificate, I stitched two of the banners together to make a pocket. I cut apart a treat bag to use as the strip across the pouch and added some Strawberry Slush banners (cut with the Perfect Pennants Framelits!) I stamped the sentiment from Perfectly Penned at the top with Baked Brown Sugar ink.

I cut a simple notecard and added one of the round tags from the kit to the top. I stamped the flower from Simple Stems in Strawberry Slush ink on Strawberry Slush cardstock. I did that twice and layered them with Dimensionals.

I just love how bold and bright an image is when you stamp it on the same color cardstock! And yes, my fussy cutting isn't perfect, but I am sure she wasn't looking at that! (OK, let's hope!!)

We made her some cookies and put them in one of the little gift bags and decorated it in the same manner. The sentiment here is from Simply Celebrate. We finished it off by tying it together with a Strawberry Slush Ruffle Trim bow.

And there you have it!! A quick and easy gift that was created using a kit! It really makes things easy when most of the components of your projects are already cut for you!! Love that!

Alrighty, you are off to my friend Jane Lee. I can't wait to see what this talented lady has in store this week. Make sure you keep hoping along and leave the ladies some love!
Have a great week!

Beautifully Baroque

Good morning everyone! Welcome to another Hand Stamped Sentiments Tuesday challenge! We've got a great sketch for you this week!

I actually played around with this sketch several times this past weekend. I love the doily part... I thought of so many options for that.

Beautifully Baroque is one of those stamps that has collected dust on my shelf. Not because I didn't like it, but because I just never got around to using it. But, this week I did! And I know you're thinking, is that card from that sketch? Yes, yes, it is... My ideas just kept bouncing around and it ended up like this. The rectangle became an oval, the doily moved higher and higher and the banners turned in the pennants... just in a totally different spot! LOL! But, that's the fun of a sketch. It's a starting point! You don't have to stick to it exactly. Although, sometimes I do stick to it exactly...

I also used the Beautifully Baroque Embossing folder, which is obviously a perfect companion to the stamp. The feathers are from the Fine Feathers stamp set.

Make sure you hop over to HSS and see what the other ladies have come up with. I hope you can also find inspiration from our sketch and link up with us as well!

My colors were inspired by the pallet at Color Me this week.
